The IIS is awarded based on a comprehensive set of technical, economic, and strategic criteria, including technological innovation, competitive advantage, patentability and intellectual property protection, economic impact, environmental sustainability, market readiness, and international growth potential. Receiving this certification demonstrates that an innovation extends beyond being merely a novel idea or a patented invention and possesses significant business and commercial value with strong prospects for successful market adoption.

The developed Smart Water Meter, featuring intelligent water consumption monitoring and analysis, leak detection and management, consumption data collection and processing, and advanced water resource management capabilities, successfully met the evaluation criteria established by the IFIA expert review panel. As a result, it was awarded the IFIA Innovation Standard (IIS) and received a dedicated profile on the official IFIA global platform.
